On the 21st June 2008 two A4s were booked for the THE CATHEDRALS EXPRESS from Kings Cross to Lincoln changing locomotives at Lincoln.
 
LNER A4 Class 4-6-2 no 60019 Bittern had brought THE CATHEDRALS EXPRESS into Lincoln on Saturday 21 June 2008 by way of Newark and come into Lincoln from the west and had taken the stock into the sidings.
 
Bittern and its own surport coach later headed off to the NRM at York.A4 Sir Nigel Gresley was to then to take the return leg from Lincoln by way of Sleaford and Spalding rejoining the ECML at Peterborough.

Bittern was later repainted in LNER blue. In 2019 it is out of ticket and is awaiting its next 10 year overhaul

A4 Sir Nigel Gresley then bought the train into Lincoln station were the passengers got in for the return leg by way of Sleaford and Spalding, rejoining the ECML at Peterborough for a trip up to London Kings Cross.
